Just watched the game against LA on 6-21 and I thought it was a terrible game for the Gold Pride for 2 reasons. Good things first though: the offense was played well and as best they could considering they got no help, Sinclair is always great and plays well with Milbrett, and, though she could have been better early on, Barnhart really saved their butts in the second half. But, I agree with a comment I saw recently on here: the coaching sucks so much. That is the number one reason why they lost, and why they are now falling near the bottom of the rankings. Why is Montoya not subbing more? Why did Weimer sit on the bench nearly the entire time? She is one of the team's best players, and it was so obvious the offense needed a rest, and what does Montoya do? Puts her in - for the last 5 minutes of the game. Nice. Number 2 reason: the defense really isn't great. I don't know what it is, they seem slow (except for Buehler) and everything gets by them, but also, does Dew play anything but dirty? Seriously defense, step up.

Hit the nail on the head! It could have easily been 4-0. Thanks to Barney it wasn't. We don't seem to attack in numbers. It's like, kick the long ball to Sinclair, and hope she gets to it. Where is the possession and ball control?

I agree...this was only the second game I was able to watch on tv....and it was very frustrating. I am friends with Sinclair and Milbrett....and get defensive when people try to blame them....it's not their fault. I feel like the coaching is to blame (at least partly) Weimer is good....I remember the 2005 season when she was a senior at Penn State when University of Portland (my alma mater) met them in the quarterfinals and she and Sinclair went head to head and we came out on top and went on to win the National Title that year! But Weimer should have come off the bench much sooner....either to relieve Milbrett or go in the midfield and help get the ball up field. It seemed ridiculous how often Gold Pride had to kick the ball back to the defense instead of attacking. Their ball control wasn't that good and I agree with those who say we need to attack in numbers and not just blast it up there and hope SInc can get. Often Sinc is being double or triple teamed ....where are the rest of the Gold Pride players....somebody should be open??? And i was not impressed with Formiga.....her passes often ended up out of bounds or at a Sol players feet? I also don't like the formation 3-4-4. the coach can definitely take the blame for that.

And Kudos to Barnhart....she made some amazing saves and kept us in the game!

You're friends with Sinclair? Lucky lucky! I haven't even been able to watch her play that much, but already I'm a huge fan of hers!

In my opinion, with Gold Pride it's usually a failure of the offense to put the ball in the back of the net. Pride is great with possession but keeping possession and passing on their side of the field doesn't get them far. The forwards have trouble putting the ball into the net, I think. No blame to Sinclair or Milbrett, they are absolutely amazing. I think the forwards shouldn't wait as long to take a shot, though. I agree, they definitely should have put Weimer in for longer, because of all positions they need to substitute their offense quickly. In my opinion they definitely shouldn't wait until the end to substitute, especially if it is obvious some players are tired. I think the defense is fair, especially Carrie Dew and Rachel Buehler. In the game against LA, though, Barnhart did save the team. She was amazing!

Lol, who told you they played a 3-4-4? I agree with Bill Campos's mom. Its only easy if your not the one doing the work. Before you go blaming a head coach on his actions about the formation of HIS team, make sure your facts are correct. FCGP plays a 4-3-3 and they have always been playing a 4-3-3 since the beginning of the season.

My apologies....I might have messed up the 3's and 4's. I just know that sometimes you play just two forwards and then have 4 midfielders where the two on the wing can go up and help attack. But the coach started 3 forwards up front.
