i dont get what the sol is looking for in next years draft by trading away two more players. Allison Falk was a perfect fit to play along side of Brittany Bock, they both have to size to win balls. And trading your back up goalie is another suprise too me. How can you build a team by trading away players after only one year. Just some thoughts from a concerned Sol fan.

Fauk rocks and Val were great.
They were a huge asset.
Does anyone have any guess what #5 pick will bring the SOL?

I think we should go for
Cristiana and Daniela

Cristiane tops list of free agents

After a slow start due to injury, Cristiane netted seven goals for the Chicago Red Stars last season. Three of them came in the same game against FC Gold Pride, making her the only WPS player to convert a hat trick during the inaugural season. Now the 24-year-old Brazilian is a free agent.

The Red Stars are hoping to work out a deal to keep Cristiane in the Windy City, but for the moment she is free to speak to all nine clubs.

“We had a good experience with Cris, and we would still very much like to retain Cristiane,” head coach Emma Hayes said. “We have to work with her agent to negotiate a new contract, but we’re very much trying to sign Cristiane for next season.”

The coach believes the feeling is mutual between the club and the player that scored 39% of its goals.

“She’d love to be back in Chicago,” Hayes said. “She had a great time here and made great friends.”

Daniela: She will be a medical risk after a bad knee injury ended her 2009 season in May, but there is no doubt this Brazilian midfielder can play, as evidenced by her two spectacular goals in the same game she was injured in. She will take up one of a team’s five international slots to be signed.

The Los Angeles Sol exercised the 2010 option for Stephanie Cox. The Los Angeles Sol waived Han Duan, Martina Franko and Christie Shaner. Liz Bogus, Brittany Cameron, Lyndsey Patterson, Keri Sanchez, Lisa Sari, Julia Schnugg, Aly Wagner and McCall Zerboni were declared free agents. The Los Angeles Sol exercised the 2010 options for: Camille Abily, Brittany Bock, Allison Falk, Valerie Henderson, Karina LeBlanc and Manya Makoski. The Los Angeles Sol also exercised the mutual option for Aya Miyama.

Some players that are free agents that we could get are: Erika, Formiga, Daniela, Cristiane, Heather Mitts, Carli Lloyd, etc.... Lets see if we can get anyone

I believe that the Sol needs players as Wambach, Cristiane or Sinclair...That know if it position inside field and to mark goals, thing that Han Duan did not get...Brazil's Attack is the most dangerous because Cristiane is a great striker and receives Marta's Lots of Balls...They has a syntony very large inside field... Marta playing more to left and Cristiane playing more advanced at the centre.
Sorry the badly English.

It would have been great if we'd gotten ARod. Guess we'll have to wait and see who we get to play up top. Hopefully someone who can keep pace and either get on the end of Marta's crosses(unlike Duan) or successfully cross to Marta. Either that or we'd better start thinking about playing Abily right up close behind Marta next season like a 4-4-1-1 thing.

I dont know how anybody else feels, but i think the Sol should have made a play for A-Rod. She was there for the taking, and she would have been a perfect fit to play along side Marta. She is worth some draft picks. Oh well see what happens.
