Duan, has not played as well as she did in the first half of the season. She does not run hard for balls, and she has given up too many balls when a defender comes at her. In my oppion we need someone who can run with Marta and not stop to watch what she is going to do with the ball. A-Rod from boston would be a perfect fit for the Sol, she has gotten no playing time in Boston especially towards the end of the year. We need speed up front, missing Camille Abily had alot to do with the week finish to the season. Think about it, coach stopped playing Camille the last few weeks and that is when the Sol struggled the most.

What did people think about Duan playing so much of the game? I think she needs to work harder.

Hard call to go against us. It may have followed the letter of the law (DOGSO: Denial of Obvious Goalscoring Opportunity) but I think we all know that most refs are usually very reluctant to make that call in a situation like that. Lot of discussion on the BigSoccer website. We'll be seeing a lot of Kari Seitz. She's considered one of the best refs out there. She's fearless and her decisions on this one are going to be upheld - in a way it's just our misfortune that 95% of the time the refs don't make these calls although perhaps they should, but this is one of the 5% when they do.

Whatever with that call!!!!! We all know it was BS. True Sol did not play the best 2nd half but man I hate it when stupid red cards are given in a final. The only thing that semi cheered me up was meeting Cristiane not once but twice at HDC and Silvos at Hermosa Beach as well as Johanna and Marta.

Unfortunately, eventhough I agree with everyone about the bad call, I must admit
Soccer would not be the game that it is without some sort of controversy.

There has been many a great bad calls in soccer history. This one will hurt for a while, but I place main responsability on the players here, sure, we were down a player, but we just did not play good enough to win. Thanks for a great season ladys, I will be in my seats next season. Cheer up everyone! :)

I watched that play over and over about thirty times from differnt angles and different sources and none of them showed an elbow to the back of her head. at the most a yellow card could have and should have been given. but one aweful call changed the whole game plan for the sol. these ladies deserved more for all their hard work throught out the season. but the Sol also needed to play with more heart, shannon boxx left her heart on that field, she gave everything she had. more players should have done the same. i love the Sol and will continue to support them, but the play could have been better.

Wonder how much money she got for fixing this game...any of you know if its possible to have her not ref any Sol games @ the HDC with a petition? Or to atleast have her fired or something...or cut..in the face. Seriously.

Exactly.

I'm disgusted with the call. It's incredible how a ref can ruin a final. If you want to kill this league, this is the perfect way to do it.

Kai dove. Check out the eye contact/wink/smiles between Kai and Seitz right after the "foul". It's disgusting. If she had given a yellow and a free kick nobody would have complained, and the final could have been played like a real final instead of a joke. Way to cap off the inaugural season, Seitz. Can we NOT have her ref any of our games next season? So, an imaginary elbow to the back is a red, but breaking someone's leg in two places(WAMBACH) isn't?
