About me

Hi, my name's Amanda - I am the Web Coordinator at Women's Professional Soccer, which basically means that I manage womensprosoccer.com and develop our social media marketing campaign.

I've been involved in soccer all my life. I played in Tucson, AZ, and was an ODP player when I was young... then I went to the University of Wyoming where I was a collegiate student-athlete and team captain for my Junior and Senior seasons. I studied communications.

In 2001, I packed up and moved East to work as the Graduate Assistant Soccer Coach at The College of New Jersey, while simultaneously selling Real Estate in Pennington and earning my M.S. in Educational Technology. At 24, I was hired as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at New York University so I moved to (a tiny studio apartment in) Manhattan and worked there for 4 years. I hold my USSF B Coaching License and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and worked as Region 1 ODP Senior Staff while I was on the East Coast. I also volunteer my time as the Chair of the NSCAA Women's Committee.

2 summers ago, I left NYU to moved to the Silicon Valley to pursue my passions in technology... I was hired straight away as the Director of a start-up. That was short-lived though, because in June 2008, I moved to the midwest help start the Chicago Red Stars WPS franchise as the Director of Online Marketing, Website and Camps.

I moved back to San Francisco, CA, in December to accept this awesome position with the League... and I love everything about it! :-) So there you have it. Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you want to talk WPS, NSCAA or anything soccer-related.

Post-Game Quote Sheet - UNC

UNC HEAD COACH ANSON DORRANCE

opening statement...
“I can’t express properly how good I feel right now and how proud I am of this group. There’s a certain nostalgia, a lot of these kids here came in as freshman and had a remarkable freshman year, and for them to finish off in this fashion I couldn’t be prouder. I’m going to miss them, so I have mixed emotions right now.”

on how tough it is to win a title now versus the old days…
“It’s longer. In the old days I think you’d… Continue

Post-Game Quote Sheet - Stanford

STANFORD HEAD COACH PAUL RATCLIFFE

opening statement...
“It was a disappointing way to end the season, but overall I’m really proud of this team and what they’ve accomplished throughout the entire season.”

on the difference in the second half…
“It’s just getting used to the swarming around the ball. North Carolina does great job of pressuring and swarming the ball. It’s easy to talk about as a coach, what you need to do, but it’s difficult in there, especially with slick c… Continue

Los Angeles Sol Pre / Post Inaugural Match Day Party

Hey so I'm trying to see if anybody is interested in having a pre or post Inaugural Match Day Party in Los Angeles. We can maybe meet up at a sports bar or whatever and just hangout / meet fellow soccer fans. This won't be a viewing party because most of us will be going to the game. So we can meet Saturday or Sunday but obviously before the game which may be a bit hard since its at 3pm. Or we can just have a post party.

Please let me know if you guys have any suggestions on where you guys want to meet. It will be better at a place near the Home Depot Center. So far the list is:

1. Leyla
2. Carmela (flying in from Chicago so you know she is hardcore fan)
