Sunday May 10th
As I’m sure everyone is aware, I missed a penalty kick in the game against Sky Blue last weekend. If it wasn’t enough that I missed it for myself, my grandmother (who expects me to score every game or she is totally bummed) reacted as if it was the end of the world. There was the “No, Tiff…no” and the long silent pause.
After the game I was pretty sure I was over it because we won (thank you Leigh Ann) but then hearing the awful sound of disappointment in my grandmother’s voice…

Monday, May 11th
We’re on a plane coming back from St. Louis where we just lost our third game of the season. It was one of those games we just want to put it behind us, and that is exactly what I’m doing.
So I’m thinking about today, which happens to be Mother’s Day, probably the most necessary holiday ever created. I wish I could be with my mom today, but unfortunately she is on the other side of the country.

Sunday April 12th
Flying back from New Jersey is so bittersweet. On the one hand I am going back to nice weather and my new home away from home. But on the other hand I’m leaving my family again.
Even though I was only able to see them for a short period of time, I definitely got the dosage I needed. Our assistant coach Jay even said my “east coast accent” became stronger in the few days I was there. So, it was nice to have a little taste of home.

Friday March 27th
Okay. It finally hit me. I am living in California for the next five months. It is a known fact that the Northeast is the best place in the country, but I’m going to have to say NorCal is a close second.
It has and will continue to take some adjusting on my part, but so far so good…with a few exceptions of course.

Saturday March 24th
For the past month players and staff have been working to make it to the point we are at today- completion of the final roster.
We have gone from 28 players at the beginning of March to a top 18 with four developmental players. It’s been hard to see people come and go throughout the month, but that is now part of the game. Albertin said time and time again how difficult the process would be for everyone and he wasn’t kidding.

I realize I failed to mention that it was a game day in my last entry. We were flying into LA Saturday morning to play that night.
We arrived at LAX around noon, but waited over two hours for the vans to pick us up. Again, it was a game day.
At the hotel our pre-game meal awaited and with only a couple hours to relax, it really didn’t seem like we had a game that day.
I knew I wasn’t going to play because I had been injured with a strained quad for the last week and a half, but as any soccer…

Saturday March 14th:
My life should not be this eventful before 10am, ever.
At 5:55 a.m. my phone went off from a friend in London asking if I was watching “my boy” Fernando Torres killing it for Liverpool…can’t be that hard to remember the time difference, right?
