Okay...so Im kinda PO-ed once again that a pretty daft ref is taking up all theblog space and is the talking point of the Final instead of just about everything else that can be talked about.

So I just finished the latest episode of World SoccerWrap where the lead-in was the WPS Final. Its no secret that I looooove WPS….and its no secret that I am a Sol fan. But I tried to remain pro when talking about the Final.

So... I had a wierd choice to make today....
Im covering the Final....for World Soccer Wrap (c)...frankly... I wouldnt miss it!!! So the question came up...do I try to get press creds and watch it from up in the media area?....or do I just buy the tickets and sit with the fans? (like I have been doing the past couple of matches)
Personally I enjoy it more if I have a seat in the HDC...I can relate to the fans better and I can actually see the reactions of the people around me.

Fair enough question....If YOU could pick 20 to 24 players to join the Atlanta Beat who would they be?? You can choose the coach as well!! Obviously this could get kinda weird as a lot of people would just cherry pick the best players in the League or select the German National team. So be wary of your selections....If you got a bunch of superstars then you will have to limit your squad size to 20. I have the flu and I am sooo sick...
So Atlanta are going to be called The Beat... Okay....Im not too thrilled with giving a team a name from a defunct league...but this is WPS...and having 2 teams with their leg in the past could be a good thing.

Home Depot Center....and today I was a fan...not a pundit or a commentator...or a soccer podcast host...just a fan. Sitting with other fans...just enjoying myself. Its time to create some more history...I just dont know who's gonna do it!!?? The womens game has one thing going against it...and that is....no matter how good the players get...no matter how good the League is...It always seems like its NEW. Where is Lorrie Fair?
You remember Lorrie Fair?...She was Soccer's 1999 Chevrolet Youth Female Athlete of the Year … The youngest member of the 1999 Women's World Cup championship team and at one point captained the US team. I think it was against Scotland!!

Sometimes I hate Soccer Pundits...sometimes!!!...the really self-loving big headed ones... that dont know when to shut up.... Some, dont know when to stop. I have always detested soccer writers who say things or write things that sound really mean and selfserving but backhandedly say that its a critique of the game...or some nonsense like that. This Friday night will be brilliant...
It wont be my usual Friday night....of power drinking, pubbing and general misbehaving in the Los Angeles in-scene. A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of coaching ELEPHANT & CASTLE LADIES FC.... The most fun time I've had coaching....I walked into the job because I wanted to calm down a bit and try my had at subtle coaching... In California there are 5 professional soccer teams.... Three play in my (adopted) home town of Los Angeles at the Home Depot Center...the other two ply their trade ....in San Jose!!!
And eventhough I love MLS....I've been a fan since day one....none of the teams I follow have come close to the excitement that I have seen on the pitch when the women come out and play.
