The winner of this contest will become Athletica’s official “Twitter Captain” for the 2010 season. ST. LOUIS (November 11, 2009) Saint Louis Athletica will soon have a joint tenant at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park. St. Louis Soccer United, the parent company of St. Louis Athletica, announced that they have formed a new professional soccer league to play in the United States and Canada beginning in April 2010.

ST. LOUIS, MO (November 10, 2009) – Elise Weber found herself in a situation that many rookie players in the WPS went through in 2009. Weber realized that the WPS is one tough league, and a league not particularly easy for first year professionals.

ST. LOUIS, MO (November 4, 2009) – Eniola Aluko has not had much time to catch her breath since her first season with Saint Louis Athletica ended. Aluko had to depart St. Louis before the season was even finished since she was required to report to England’s training camp in preparation for the 2009 Women’s European Championships. LOUIS (September 15, 2009) – Saint Louis Athletica Head Coach and General Manager Jorge Barcellos announced today that Athletica midfielder Amanda Cinalli and defender Sara Larsson were selected by the Atlanta Beat in the WPS Expansion Draft. Saint Louis Athletica forward Eniola Aluko completed a sterling performance in the European Championships on Thursday September 10 when her England squad faced off against Germany in the finals. Saint Louis Athletica’s 2009 inaugural season ended on Wednesday night with a 1-0 loss to Sky Blue FC in the WPS Super Semifinal. Keeley Dowling struck what proved to be the game winner in the 30th minute. Saint Louis Athletica concluded their 2009 regular season schedule tonight with a 1-1 draw against FC Gold Pride at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Christie Welsh scored the opener again on a long ball down the center of the field from Hope Solo.
