It very exciting to have a women's legue out but my dad made a point to me today alt of people from long island new york don even know there is a womens legue out and the legue we play for they have a banquet if you would say every year for the players and the coaches to uy supplies and stuff like that and when the WUSA was around they actually had players from the team come down like christie rampone it is a way of advertising and getting the word out alot of people in the legue think it is a good idea you should probably think about it
The Sky Blue-Freedom playoff was a great match to see in person, sorry you missed it. And unfortunately for NJ viewers, Fox Sports Net (MSG+) didn't broadcast the match live, so that they could air Mixed Martial Arts. Hopefully we can find a better network for WPS next year!
As you may know Sky Blue FC's last home game is Wednesday night August 5th at Yurcak field. The game starts at 7:00PM. This should be an exciting match due to the tight playoff race Sky Blue FC is in as well as the great giveaways that fans will receive at the game. Their will even be a jersey auction where you can bid on game used jerseys!

Hi, you should take all your ideas and bring them over to scotland/united kingdom, we need people like you that belive in the beautiful game and the women who play it...there isnt really ant oppertunity for women to be recognised in scotland unless you play where there is a very good team to be recognised in ... I bless you for all you have done...keep up the great work ..
Are there plans to add live games to the website and highlights to the website so people can a. follow their teams and b. get the sport to those like myself who live no where near a team...I am in Detroit.....great work so far congrats.
Even though Dallas isn't fielding a team this year (any new news on the stadium situation?), I'm still following the league. I'm making plans to drive up to St. Louis for their first game vs Chicago.
An interesting question has come up over on the BigSoccer boards in regards to players rights. For those players that were drafted in the International and WNT Player Pool drafts that aren't going to play in the WPS this season, what happens if they come over to play on a future season? For instance, Renata Costa signed with a team in Europe so St Louis wasn't able to sign her. If she were to join the league next season or some season after that, would St Louis retain first dibs? Or would she be put up in the general draft for anyone to pick.
we had a great turnout for the womens national team here in Detroit...13,000 on a snowy work night...so hopefully Detroit will be an option for expansion...good luck this season, I will be folowing the league on FSC for every broadcast match.
hello comish. the league is here.thanks for all the hard work you put in to make this happen.
some of us have been making a lot of noise world wide for the wps and are a bit saddened by the way african players have been snubbed by the clubs.
there are loads of high quality players out there who could have complemented the array of talents .
rita chikwelu.sarah michael.effi ekpo.portia modise to name a few . I personally would have loved to see these ladies grace the wps with their stellar performances in order to reel in the african support for the wps.
please cast the net wider next year .I know there are players from the african continent with the skill set of martha.formiga.amy rodriguez or abby wambach who are dying to play in the wps. please get them here.
I am thrilled this League is happening, would love to see them expand into Ohio. Cleveland could use a Women's professional team, esp. since Columbus has the reigning champs the crew! I hope WPS can look into this, plenty of places to play, too esp. downtown!!
This is Paul Lee from San Mateo. You trained my daughter Tara and her teammates when you lived in Palo Alto during the mid-90's. It's been awhile but we still think of you. I was very happy to see Women's pro soccer returning to the Bay Area but was especially happy to see you as the Commissioner. What a step in the right direction! I can't see a more appropriate person to get this league established nationally. We are looking forward to being season ticket holders for a Bay Area team.
Hope we can hook up with you someday. Tara is playing in a women's league and indoors as well. We would love to help spread the word about the pro league.
When is the next list of combine attendees going to be posted?
How has the economy impacted WPS plans for marketing, signing players and growth opportunities?
Hi Commissioner,
I, once a football (soccer) player myself, I like to watch womens football, especially when WUSA is around (2001-2003).
What can we expect from this league?
How many sponsors will supports WPS?
I hope it won't be like the WUSA.
I'm happy, the WPS is comming, so that I can once again be the 12th man for The Washington Freeom, Blue-N-White (Le Blue Ladies), I've got the blue-n-white blood in me.
All the best,

Hey Tonya! Umm Mrs. Antonucci, to be more respectful :) How are you? I just wanted to say how excited I am for the new league, I have a very strong feeling that this league is going to last longer than 3 years. It's like everything is going so perfect. It's amazing.
Hi~May i recommend a nice soccer player to your team? Her name is Xu Yuan, the No.8 in Chinese women soccer team.May be she is not as famous as others, but I believe she will become a super star in the future. If you had watched the Chinese women soccer team's performance, you must agree with me^^ Delete Comment
